CineBlack was designed to provide an even greater diffusion effect without flattening contrast. Compared to the standard 1/4" Black Mist 135 series, CineBlack has a denser grain structure, producing stronger highlight bloom and more pronounced halation, while preserving the depth of shadows and blacks.
At 1/2 intensity, you'll get a more pronounced bloom and vintage-style roll-off effect, especially when a light source is in the frame. 1/4 is perfect for commercials, interviews, and golden hour shoots. For stylized work or when you need a stronger film emulation, 1/2 will give you a punchier result.
No. CineBlack is designed to maintain neutral color accuracy and exposure. The diffusion layer only affects the texture of the light and the softness of the highlights, but does not affect color tone or ND levels.
Yes, CineBlack stacks beautifully with ND, VND, CPL or protection filters. For best results, place CineBlack closest to the lens to most accurately suppress bloom and halation.
